A little humility can achieve much more….

♥Good morning friends,

Laws of interactions don’t follow geometry,
So, when you bend, you actually emerge taller.
That’s really a strange thing about humility,
You bow but you are nowhere near being smaller.
You decide to lose but actually gain.
Your simple act never goes in vain.

The greater a man is the more humility he has,
This too is against plain geometry.
That’s why a humble man is sometimes known as,
The one blessed with great civility.
Everyone is made by the same God,
How can His creations be flawed.

Sometimes in anger or in rage,
When you have an urge to show the other down.
From the immediate situation just disengage,
And let humility replace your frown.
And lo, you suddenly emerge on top,
How long the madness can go on nonstop?

….than heaps of anger and arguments.

No one can ever buy Time….

♥Good Morning Friends,

Sometimes one uses the expression:
“For this, I haven’t got the Time.”
That leads us to the question:
If the reality escapes us sometime.
Time no one ever possesses,
You can see it go by as it progresses.

Time is never in anyone’s hand,
Even though we wear it on the wrist.
All the time runs out the sand,
We can’t hold what we’ve already missed.
Time no one ever possesses,
You can see it go by as it progresses.

So the wise use that moment well,
That is now here but fleeting.
Next moment for you’ll come, you can’t tell,
Enjoy whilst the heart’s still beating.
Time no one ever possesses,
You can see it go by as it progresses.

….not even a moment.

Thank God we can disagree…

Even when we disagree with anyone,
There is no reason to be rude.
Disagreements are to be taken in stride,
They needn’t lead to a feud.

There is no way all people can agree,
On one way of doing anything.
God has given us the right to disagree,
He hasn’t given us the right to sting.

Different perspectives need to be celebrated,
Rather than being viewed as threats.
Those who have the art to gracefully differ,
Do so without anger and regrets.

If everyone would have the same view,
How boring the world would be.
Hence we should value these differences,
Rather than on everything grudgingly agree.

….and still be friends.

Keeping desires under check….

Good morning friends,

With great tenacity we stick to our desires,
And they gradually become like wild fires.
We sometimes feel there won’t be life without them,
There is no way, we feel, their flow we can stem.

The truth is that our desires we constantly feed,
We always want to have more than we need.
Gradually we become under their control.
And they, not we, become our life’s goal.

Desires and Trust in God are poles apart,
God has already provided what should be in our heart.
By nourishing our desires we convey to Him,
The chances of our liking His gifts are dim.

In the end we have to invariably bow to His will,
Even if at first glance it appears downhill.
We should gradually learn to live without desires,
God already knows what each of us requires.

….is a great way to find yourself and God.

Everyone deserves a smile….

Just make it your style,
To have for everyone a smile.
You will be able to see,
That it brings all round glee,
And does wonders to your own profile.

Of all the gifts that God gave Man,
Very few accomplish what smile can.
Your enemies it can disarm,
And you find there is no harm,
In believing Smile is part of God’s plan.

Receiving one is a great reward,
Especially when given by own accord,
By someone grateful to you,
For things that you did or do,
It is nice to know you are adored.

The worth of a smile only he knows,
Who is covered with misery up to his nose.
It is as if in a rough patch,
Not a whiff of air he can catch,
But he comes across the most beautiful rose.

….and it doesn’t cost a thing.

Love your purpose and position in life….

Good morning friends,

Each one of us has a distinct role to play,
In selecting that role we may not have much say.
It doesn’t matter whether it is big or small,
What matters is whether we give it our all,
Or allow other factors to come in the way.

It is our ‘karma’ to do assigned task well,
If tomorrow will come we can’t really tell,
So it has to be done today,
And not abandoned half way,
In whatever our hands find to do we need to excel.

And let’s not envy someone else’s position,
To have another’s job is not a good ambition.
We should just love our own,
Without a grunt or groan,
Remember, whatever it is, it is our life’s mission.

….and excel in that.

Are there needs beyond Maslow’s?

Good morning friends,

What I said about stages of prayers yesterday,
Applies also to the stages of one’s needs.
But, Maslow’s Needs Pyramid has only to say,
About how one’s individual aspiration proceeds.
From Physiological to Self-Actualisation.
Each need is to do with individual salvation.

Now let’s put all these individual needs at the base,
And proceed further up the path to learn.
And think about those who don’t participate in the race,
But do things for others without anything in return.
Surely this must rank higher than any individual need,
There is neither an expectation nor any greed.

The highest would be when you let go of self altogether,
And have only a desire to merge with God.
There is no need to put in your cap a feather,
One finds that every other desire is flawed.
There is no need or desire beyond it,
In the court of your Maker you finally sit.

Yes, indeed, there are.

If you pray, you must know….

Good morning friends,

Let me tell you today about stages of prayers,
The first one is to see if about you God really cares.
So you ask Him for everything that you require,
Some of it is what you need, the rest is what you desire.

The next stage is when by your soul you are driven,
So you pray to Him to make you worthy of what He has given.
In this way whilst you still ask for something,
The aim of prayer is to thank Him for each and every thing.

The next stage is when you pray for family and friends,
So that for any neglect or omission you can make amends.
Of course, it is still restricted to the people known,
It recognises the fact that you are never alone.

The next stage is to pray for all those in need,
You don’t make distinction in colour or creed.
The last stage is when you pray for every being He made.
To bring joy to everyone becomes your crusade.

….at what stage of prayer are you.

Noise can never match….

Good morning friends,

Everyone should love silence,
To connect to one’s soul.
I like to have it around,
When noise has had its toll.
Silence can get you more things,
It gives your imagination wings.

The best state of silence,
Is to have it outside and inside.
To find the bliss of serenity,
That chatter and din had denied.
Silence is required to learn more,
About what God has in store.

Do talk, sing and scream,
But remember you require calm.
For the open scars of the heart,
Silence acts like a balm.
The world is too much with us,
Be silent sometimes and cut out the fuss.

….the virtues of Silence.

Is there something wrong in praying?

Good morning friends,

If He knows everything,
What is the use of praying?
When silence conveys all,
What’s the point in saying?

Praying is acknowledgement by us,
That we are feeble He is strong.
So in asking Him to grant us strength,
We ain’t doing anything wrong.

He must do things at His level,
We must do things at ours.
There is no comparison or use,
In trying to match His powers.

“God, until I merge with you,
I pray to you for everything.
I am just an ordinary citizen,
You are the ultimate king.”

“I also pray that you’ll give me good sense,
About what should I pray for,
And if something is not worth praying,
Please, God, kindly ignore.”

Let Him judge that!

Things become sweeter….

Good morning friends,

You can say with courtesy and tact,
What would be the most distasteful fact.
You can be sure,
That with your manner mature,
Palatable would be its impact.

It is not entirely the subject,
That has the adverse effect,
But the way in which you convey,
Can either cause dismay,
Or can be viewed as manners perfect.

So, for others let’s show consideration,
Our speech shouldn’t cause consternation.
It should bring out in others the best,
They should feel assured and blest,
Rather than full of rage and frustration.

….when you say them with tact and courtesy.

Let’s be thankful for even those things….

We often take for granted,
All the things that come to us each day.
Very rarely we are disenchanted,
That things don’t come our way.
And yet gratefulness we never show.
We only bemoan if they reach us slow.

One has to imagine life without them,
To realise, in our life, their value.
We don’t give a thought how they come,
And how what we wanted God knew.
Let’s just show some gratitude to God,
If not actually pause, stand and applaud.

….even those things that come to us regularly each day.

Behold God’s world’s beauty….

Good morning friends,

World is as beautiful as the way you see,
For sighting beauty your heart is the key.
There is no charge to see things that are lovely.
Most of the beauty comes to us free.

God is the greatest painter we’ve seen,
No one can paint His type of dynamic scene.
One minute it is joyous and exuberant,
The next it is totally calm and serene.

Then there are endless shades and hues,
Greens, yellows, reds and blues.
You look at one, then you look at another,
You don’t know which to ignore and which to choose.

Of course you can’t see beauty with just your eyes,
You would use your heart if you are wise.
Those who don’t, they miss the sheer delight,
The others? Well, they often feast on God’s surprise.

….with your heart.
