Gratefulness is a virtue worth having.

Good morning Friends,

Of all the virtues that one must possess,
Gratefulness brings the most contentment;
If you have it you are rid of undue stress,
Caused by others-have-more resentment.

When you thank God and others for all,
That they gave, did and are doing for you;
You do yourself a favour, by no means small,
And make others thank for your goodness too.

Lets begin the day by thanking our Creator,
For giving us the gift of yet another day;
There is no blessing that is at all greater,
Than that, on earth, longer we can stay.

Having gratefulness also may signify,
We are content with our situation;
What we don’t have doesn’t make us cry,
What we have gives us total elation.

Thanking others is just to endorse,
What they did and are doing for us;
It also does in our minds reinforce,
That acceptance is always without a fuss.

I thank you today for being what you are,
You make my life content and complete;
I see in each one of you a superstar,
Because of you life is happy and sweet.

Have a grateful day today.

Good morning Friends,

Four-lettered words are considered bad,
They are regarded as a form of abuse;
There are some that make the heart glad,
You don’t think of them as tongue that’s loose.

One of them is Love, another is Hope,
Two four-lettered words that rule the Earth;
Without either none of us can really cope,
All the people marvel at their true worth.

Love brings Hope and Hope brings Love,
Amazingly, both of them go hand in hand;
They are like a white pigeon and a dove,
Amongst others they bring peace on land.

A world without Love is a Hopeless world,
There are despair and resentment around;
As the forces of Hatred and War are unfurled,
The voices of Reason and Friendship are drowned.

I wish you a day full of Love and Hope,
May tender feelings guide your day;
May all other negative feelings elope,
Leaving you to deal with a sunny Sunday.

Yet another sunny Sunday is out to scintillate you.

Good morning Friends,

Although happiness is a relative feeling,
No one can actually steal it from you;
Your inner self can provide the healing,
And it is really good for your soul too.

Whilst it is true no man is an island,
Still, each can control his own emotions;
We don’t have to go where others land,
We can have our own ideas and notions.

What a wonderful world God has made,
We are dependent but have our space too;
So if in a situation a person is found afraid,
It doesn’t have to perforce include you.

Likewise, happiness is a feeling within,
One shouldn’t ever look for it without;
Find it somewhere inside your skin,
It is there beyond any shadow of doubt.

Hence, let me today wish you inner joy,
That would always be there with you;
Such happiness no one can ever destroy,
Everyday, you can find it fresh and new.

Let this Saturday be soul-stirring and buoyant from within.

Good morning Friends,

It is natural to seek light after dark,
Than to plunge into dark after light;
At daybreak you can sing like a lark,
When the blackness is on a flight.

Mornings are for positive thought,
You can look forward to the entire day;
Look at the colours the sun brought,
And the winds making the trees sway.

Endless beauty descends on the earth,
When the day shifts from twilight to dawn;
Early birds start flying and chirping in mirth,
The Nature prepares to welcome the morn.

There is increasing excitement in the air,
As if it is a singular unique occurrence,
So what it is everyday and not so rare?
Every morning brings a different ambience.

It is worth welcoming every new day,
Exactly how Nature has meant it to be;
Never think of any morning as passe’,
Each has got its own distinctive beauty.

I pray that the beauty of this lovely Friday,
Would be seen by eyes and felt by heart;
That soon you’d own it and call it ‘My Day‘,
And with its spur, have a truly flying start.

ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਇਕ ਸਾਲ,
ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੈ ਓਹਨਾ ਹੀ ਬੁਰਾ ਹਾਲ।
ਇੰਜ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਦਾਂ ਮਾਂ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ,
ਓਹੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਮੁਸਕਾਨ ਓਹੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਚਾਲ।

ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੂਹ ਇਸ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਬਸਦੀ,
ਹਰ ਤਰਫ਼ ਇੱਥੇ ਮਾਂ ਦਿਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਹੱਸਦੀ;
ਕੁਛ ਵੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਲਓ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ,
ਹਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਬਲਮ ਦਾ ਹਲ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਮਾਂ ਦੱਸਦੀ।

ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿਸੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੁਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਉਹ ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਪਲ,
ਕਾਸ਼ ਯਮਦੂਤ ਨਾ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਲ,
ਰੱਬ ਕਰਦਾ ਕੁੱਛ ਐਸਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਬੰਧ ਜਾਂਦਾ,
ਉਹ ਘੜੀ ਕਿਸੀ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਟੱਲ।

ਪਰ ਹੋਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਥੱਕਦਾ,
ਅੱਜ ਮਾਂ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕੱਲ ਅਸਾਂ ਵੀ ਓਥੇ ਜਾਣਾ,
ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਵਕ਼ਤ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਕ਼ ਦਾ।

ਜਦ ਤਕ ਅਸੀਂ ਹਾਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਂ ਹੈ,
ਓਥੇ ਉਥੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਹਰਦਮ ਇਸੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ।

ਰੱਬਾ, ਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦਿਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਆਪਜੀ ਦੀ ਛਾਯਾ,
ਹਰ ਤਰਫ ਉਤੇ ਹੈ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਯਾ,
ਆਪਜੀ ਤਾਂ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਸੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ,
ਅਸੀਂ ਫੇਰ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸੀ ਘਰ ਚ ਹੈ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ।

Maa nu gaye ho gaya ik saal,
Aje wi saada hai ohna hi bura haal.
Inj lagda hai maa aje wi ithe hai,
Ohi pyaari muskaan ohi sohni chaal.

Maa di rooh is ghar wich hai basdi,
Har taraf ithe maa dikhdi hai hasdi;
Kuchh wi sawaal puchh lao maa nu,
Har problem da hal aje wi hai maa dasdi.

Kaash kisi tarah ruk jaande oh aakhri pal,
Kaash Yamdoot na dekhda saadi maa de wal,
Rabb karda kuchh aisa samaan bandh jaanda,
Oh ghadi kisi na kisi tarah jaandi tal.

Par honi nu koi roke nahi hai sakda,
Kaal da hath kade nahin hai thakda,
Ajj maa gayi hai kal asaan wi othe jaana,
Poora karna hai waqt aseen wi apne haq da.

Jadd taq aseen haan saadi maan hai,
Saare paase maa di jind jaan hai,
Othe utte Waheguru kol nahin,
Saadi maan tanh hardam isi thaan hai.

Rabba, maa wich dikhdi hai aapji di chhaya,
Har waqt utte hai saade maan da hi saaya,
Aapji tanh lai gaye si maan nu aapne kol,
Aseen pher maa nu isi ghar ch hai bulaya.

One year has gone by since Maa went away,
Even now we are still in bad state.
It appears like it was only yesterday,
That same loving smile, the same beautiful gait.

Mother’s soul still lives in our abode,
In every direction we can see her smile,
Even now you can put her in answering mode,
She’d give you the solution in a while.

Wish those last moments could be stalled,
And wish Death’s Messenger had spared her;
How lovely if God hadn’t her called,
And Time hadn’t somehow dared her.

But who can stop Fate’s wheels turn,
Time’s hands never get tired,
Today Maa left, tomorrow we’d also burn,
Who knows when we are required?

Maa lives as long as we are here,
In every direction you can see mother,
No, she isn’t with God up there,
Our mother is at this place and no other.

God, we can see in mom your face,
Everywhere your and her blessings abound,
You’d beckoned Maa to your place,
But, in this house we still have her around.

 

 

God is the only constant in this universe.

Good morning Friends,

Do you have to be happy throughout,
To wish people happiness everyday?
What happens if you are down and out,
In sadness, what do you have to say?

The fact is that there is no constant,
Today you’re happy, tomorrow you can be sad;
Indeed things can change every instant,
There is nothing like perennial good or bad.

This teaches us to be humble in good times,
As also, in bad times, to have fortitude;
Enjoy it when the bell of delight chimes,
But don’t give up in moments of solitude.

In this forever changing world of emotion,
Remember, your God is always with you;
Some situations are only to test your devotion,
God is always kind, well-meaning and true.

‘May God be with you‘ is a better greeting,
Than wishing people continuous happiness;
Everything in the universe is merely fleeting,
Only God is permanent and magnanimous.

I wish you, with Him, direct line today,
May He be there constantly by your side;
May He hear you instantly when you pray,
Through ever changing time and tide.

May God’s blessings constantly touch you this Thursday.

Good morning Friends,

Even if you journey by plane, ship or train,
And be with people for short duration;
You can’t help but thoughts you entertain,
That fellow passengers deserve consideration.

Now imagine your fellow travelers on Earth,
Journeying with you for months and years;
Shouldn’t they be, your consideration, worth,
Sharing with you same joys, sorrows and fears?

God made all virtues and emotions relative,
Making us dependent on so many others;
It is, therefore, made for us near imperative,
That we regard people as sisters and brothers.

Today when you awaken just look around,
Think of people as co-travelers with you;
Share with them the love you’ve found,
And wish them well on Life’s Journey too.

Here everyone arrives at the same station,
Their timings and duration may be diverse;
And lo, all disembark at the same destination,
Before finally to their homes they disperse.

Happy Life’s Journey, my fellow passengers,
Let today’s part voyage be the best so far;
None of us are to one another strangers,
All of us get direction from the same star.

You can give a man some money,
At his job, you can give him a raise,
But to really make him feel sunny,
Just convey to him a word of praise.

You can see that a little appreciation,
Can actually make your loved ones fly;
If you seek of this proof or illustration,
Why not give it a one time try?

Today, let those close to you know,
That you admire what they are doing;
You can see their confidence grow,
And see their spirits and zeal renewing.

You’d then enjoy your own power,
To make people around you smile;
When you, on people, joys shower,
These happily return to you in a pile.

Praise, like mercy, is double blessed,
It blesses both the giver and the receiver;
In gods’ own robes it is always dressed,

Good morning Friends,

A good thing linked to these odes,
Is that we take one day at a time;
Rather than the weight of life, in loads,
In bits, these give us reason and rhyme.

Life is really meant to be lived this way,
By breaking into many a convenient part;
We are just to do our best every day,
And then wait for a brand new day to start.

The most important part of life, thus,
Becomes each single day to be lived well;
No anxiety, no worry, no pain, no fuss;
No useless thinking of heaven and hell.

Don’t lets worry about tomorrow and its needs,
Lets fold our hands and to God lets pray;
“Give me today my best thoughts and deeds,
Let me be happy and content just for today.”

Stay focused on one small step, each day,
And not on the Life’s Journey as a whole;
This is by far the most pragmatic way,
In which we progress to our life’s goal.

Good morning Friends,

When everything appears wrong for me,
I often listen to my favourite song;
And lo! suddenly, sadness turns to glee,
It appears right what was till then wrong.

Of all the things that God has gifted,
Music invariably stirs my soul;
Listening to it I feel truly uplifted,
Soon I start feeling like a whole.

Like Love, Music doesn’t have a language,
That’s understood only by a few;
On the other hand there is an adage,
That music can cross barriers, old and new.

Look at the place it occupied in Indian culture,
Music and Raagas were our ways to pray,
Gods would come alive from stone sculpture,
And with the music would dance and sway.

Lets start this Sunday on the right note,
And let Music touch your inner heart;
Each one of us needs a way to emote,
In it, let music play its rightful part.

Good morning Friends,

Today I want to talk about Love,
The greatest feeling on earth;
It comes directly from God above,
Even there they know its worth.

Sometimes when you have nothing,
Love is really all that you need,
You don’t want, in the world, anything,
Other than the best one indeed.

It makes you warm inside and out,
It brings smile to your loved one’s face;
It leaves you with hardly any doubt,
Love is the only one to win the race.

All the world’s greatest achievements,
Are made possible by the power of love;
After you’ve had your biggest attainments,
All you want to see is that lovely dove.

Love is also the strongest potion,
To cure the worst of the diseases;
It is the most powerful emotion,
With the goodwill that it releases.

So, let Love be your guide today,
To make this day the best so far:
Let its flame truly light your way,
Better than that of the brightest star.

Share it freely with all you meet,
Let them know you have it in tons;
Reach for God whilst still on your feet,
And ask Him to bless all your loved ones.

Good morning Friends,

As you wake up from your slumber,
And look at the miracle that is new born;
You should not just go by its number,
But look at the beauty of the new morn.

As the shades of black and grey,
Change to crimson, orange and yellow,
You witness the birth of a new day,
The whole atmosphere is just mellow.

You hear the rooster’s alarm,
And the chirping of the birds;
Then the Nature reveals its charm,
To describe which, you don’t have words.

And imagine it is just the daybreak,
What about the rest of the day?
If this isn’t miracle, for God’s sake,
What else can you call it or say?

I think it is a great blessing from Him,
That another day, to our lives, is added;
A morning is anything but sad and grim,
Admittedly a night is often dreaded.

So, prepare yourself to receive a new day,
As if it is the first morning you’d ever see;
Bask in the glory of the newest sun-ray,
And remember this magic comes to you free.

We start with the month of August now,
And hope it turns out to be august for you;
You should see a rainbow and say: “Wow,
Look, in the rain, the sun is out too.”

That’s the way life is, my friends,
In every life a little rain must fall;
But then God always makes amends,
When you feel you’re up against the wall.

So have faith and trust in God’s plan,
I believe that He is loving and kind;
There are things that only God can,
So put all doubts and anxieties behind.

Chin up, eyes gleaming and face the day,
And trust you have someone close to you;
Yes, it is God to whom you always pray,
He is the Master but your friend too.

Good morning Friends,

Minutes makes hours and hours make a day,
Even after they are gone their memories stay;
Isn’t it important that I make them happy,
Lest in useless longings these should go away?

Let me be content with what is dealt to me,
After all, these come to me absolutely free,
God has given me a most valuable lesson,
Just three little words called: ‘Let it be‘.

What is involved in making my days joyous?
To get there, do I have to make a lot of fuss?
It is simple, it is always there within me,
If I can’t find it I would have missed the bus.

So, Open your hearts and find that happiness,
That’s reflected in the day and its loveliness,
You have it within what makes a day beautiful,
Good morning, friend, you are awesomeness.

Let this Wednesday be wedded to wonders.

Good morning Friends,

Some days start being good,
Some days start being bad;
Some days you’re misunderstood,
Some days you start a fad.

Some days you walk on air,
Some days your feet drag;
Some days people really care,
Some days you’re called a nag.

Some days you get an ovation,
Some days you’re just neglected;
Some days fill you with elation,
Some days you feel rejected.

It would seem your days are dependent,
On other people and circumstances;
Whether you are satisfied or repentant,
Is contingent upon your chances.

I would say I tend to disagree,
It is all squarely in your hand;
How your day turns out to be,
You and only you can understand.

So, as you wake up at daybreak,
Just fill yourself with confidence;
This day would be what I make,
With my own deeds and own sense.

God and luck would be on my side,
They have always been my friends;
I can then say with sufficient pride,
Forget the start, see how my day ends.
