Theme-word: Last line: Jeevan naya milega antim chita mein jal ke.
Best Children’s Song by a Poll
This was overwhelmingly voted as the Best Children’s Song in a poll in 2015. To imagine that the song occurred in the 1961 movie Gunga Jumna! Fifty four years later, it was still voted as the best! That says a lot about this song.
It was penned by Shakeel Badayuni, composed by Naushad Ali and sung by Hemant Kumar for the teacher Abhi Bhattacharya teaching a class in an open air class in a village in which children are studying.

In the year 2016, I included it as a song that depicts all the ideals contained in the Preamble to Constitution of India: Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. Hats off to Shakeel Badayuni for having thought of that!

I hope you enjoyed my choice for Song #16 in the series.
Please await Song #17 – Zindagi mein to sabhi pyar kiya karte hain.
