GOOD MORNING MESSAGE #246

When we ask God with a pure heart….

Good morning friends,

God, with His people maintains a bond,
To their prayers He’d always respond.
They may not get the way they desire,
For He knows best what they most require,
Hence, He listens to prayers and goes beyond.

Have trust and let Him decide the way,
How He would provide for what we pray.
Many times to make us stronger,
Our prayers, to realise, may take longer,
You may not have it delivered the same day.

There is a difference between prayer and demand,
He is a Master and not a servant at our command.
We should bow our head in gratitude,
And don’t erroneously conclude,
That He has rejected our prayer out of hand.

….He commands the universe to make it possible.

I have done a long stint in the Indian Navy that lasted for nearly thirty seven years; I rose as far as my somewhat rebellious and irreverent nature allowed me to. On retirement, in Feb 2010, the first thing that occurred to me, and those around me, was that I Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (you will find an article with this title in this blog) and hadn't lost all my noodles and hence thought of a blog titled 'This 'n That'. I later realised that every third blog is called 'This 'n That' and changed the name to 'Sunbyanyname'. I detest treading the beaten track. This blog offers me to air 'another way' of looking at things. The idea is not just to entertain but also to bring about a change. Should you feel differently, you are free to leave your comments. You can leave comments even when you agree and want to share your own experience about the topic of the blog post. Impudent or otherwise, I have never been insousciant and I am always concerned about the betterment of community, nation and the world. I hope the visitors of this blog would be able to discern it.

    .
By itself the couplet in Picture, seems to be quite inviting unless one reads the content where you have clarified in your special poetic way Ravi Paaji, its applicability @the #Pure heart
    .
Otherwise there would be a dichotomy with the verses in Japji Sahib in the opening, where Guru Sahib is advising to live within the #Hukum,
With Truth, and to get rid of illusion and ego.
    .
“HUKUM” which literally means ‘Order’ or ‘Command’. It can also be translated as “Will” or “Law”. Word “HUKUM” is used 17 times in 38 Paudis. It will not be an exaggeration, if it is said that this one word is the foundation of the entire ‘JAP JI’.

    How will the curtain of falsehood -The Wall of Illusion- (Maya) fall;
and How can then we realize the Truth
Says ‘Nanak’, Live with His Divine Will !!

Guru Nanak Saheb lays emphasis on living a life based on Truth.
His Hukam Razai Chalna is placed in the Japuji Sahib as the First Commandment. This commandment implies total surrender of oneself to the Supreme.

    Back to the Post …
    Pure Heart ( संत कबीर साहेब ने कहा निर्मल मन, महात्मा मंगत राम ने शुद्ध अंतकरण बताया ) is the prerequisite for a state where the nature is in attendance to fulfill whatever is spoken for.
    Saint Kabir Saheb says
    .
    कबीरा मन निर्मल भया जैसे गंगा नीर
    पाछे पाछे हरी फिरे कहत कबीर कबीर
    .
As shared A few days back, a Worldly Father पिता for 40 50 years does everything, even sacrificing himself, to give the best to his children,
Is it not unfair to think that Param-Pita, the Eternal Father
( आद सच जुगाद सच, है भी सच “नानक” होसी भी सच) is to be reminded or asked for something.
    .
that would be an expression of distrusting the Eternal Father and not having Faith in Him, delivering as per Need (& Karma)
and in any case, He does not provide for anyone’s Greed, in whatever way pleaded.
The Only way therefore is to Give Out what we want,
for in the law of Nature (Hukum) it will be returned multifold
(1 Kg of Wheat Sowed Returns 45 Kg of Harvest )

Remember, Our Ancient Rishis used to perform Yagya, and Seek well being of the World

    .
Otherwise, it may only act as a barrier in the the attitude of gratitude self submission and self surrender which are the prerequisites for a pure heart

    .
HUKME ANDAR SAB KO BAHAR HUKAM NA KOI.
NANAK, HUKME JE BUJHE TA HAOME KAHE NA KOI !!
    .
Everything operates under His Hukam, nothing is outside of Hukam.
As is Your Hukam, so will every thing will happen

Let us take a closer look at HUKUM – #Bhaana #Mananaa. What that means is to realize that everything happens in His Hukam and to cheerfully accept whatever occurs as His Will.

An important part of living in Hukam is recognizing that everything is His Hukam and expressing our devotion and love for Him.

When something bad happens, we say “Oh well, it is God’s Will”.
We are effectively blaming Him but saying that we have no choice but to accept it, or perhaps to to pray to Him.
When good things happen, we often take the credit for them – we believe that it is the result of our hard work, or our smartness.
It is important to remember that good things also Bad things happen in His Will (in Fact as a Result of Our Karma ).
so, every day is a reason to celebrate all our blessings and to remember Him and practice gratitude. If we just pause and reflect on all our blessings, we realize there is so much to be grateful for.

Everyone is subject to Hukam; no one is beyond (outside of) Hukam.
O Nanak! One who understands Hukam, does not speak in
ego (i.e., that person does not live in Haumai or ego)
    .
Both spirituality and ethics have to go hand in hand.

HE KNOWS, WE DON’T NEED TO ASK,
expressed thru this Lovely Shabad …

    Bin boliya sab kush janda
