He stared into
The black emptiness
Of the dark.
It felt comforting.
Reassuring that all
He knew was worth knowing.
That all he sought
Was worth seeking.
Only he knew what he knew.
Only he knew what he didn’t.
Dark and night,
Black and white,
Have many portraits.
Here is his favourite:
A flicker of light
In the darkness of Sin
Was disturbing.
The light leading
To his Guilt
Affected his soul.
Could he switch it off
Exactly how it came on?
The light made him
Heavy hearted.
Burdened.
Leaded.
The darkness was
Indeed, lighter.
Clothed, he felt
Feathery and flying.
Nakedness of Truth
On the other hand
Made him anchored.
Chained.
Heavy.
In the comforting
Darkness of Fantasy,
Lovingly groping,
He hit his head
On the rock of Reality.
And he found
The Meaning of Life:
What you see
Feel or believe
Is not how things are.
What you don’t
Are also not real.
Sin and Guilt are
Like Light and Dark
Interlinked
And yet,
Independent.
The same are opposites,
And opposites are
The same.
What about AI?
The newest dilemma.
Is all Intelligence actually
Artificial?
We choose carefully
In the comfort
Of Darkness.
In the eternal
Search for Happiness.
And the Light
That leads to the Truth?
We don’t go finding it.
It would find us
Eventually
When we are ready.
