If you pray, you must know….

Good morning friends,

Let me tell you today about stages of prayers,
The first one is to see if about you God really cares.
So you ask Him for everything that you require,
Some of it is what you need, the rest is what you desire.

The next stage is when by your soul you are driven,
So you pray to Him to make you worthy of what He has given.
In this way whilst you still ask for something,
The aim of prayer is to thank Him for each and every thing.

The next stage is when you pray for family and friends,
So that for any neglect or omission you can make amends.
Of course, it is still restricted to the people known,
It recognises the fact that you are never alone.

The next stage is to pray for all those in need,
You don’t make distinction in colour or creed.
The last stage is when you pray for every being He made.
To bring joy to everyone becomes your crusade.

….at what stage of prayer are you.

Noise can never match….

Good morning friends,

Everyone should love silence,
To connect to one’s soul.
I like to have it around,
When noise has had its toll.
Silence can get you more things,
It gives your imagination wings.

The best state of silence,
Is to have it outside and inside.
To find the bliss of serenity,
That chatter and din had denied.
Silence is required to learn more,
About what God has in store.

Do talk, sing and scream,
But remember you require calm.
For the open scars of the heart,
Silence acts like a balm.
The world is too much with us,
Be silent sometimes and cut out the fuss.

….the virtues of Silence.

Is there something wrong in praying?

Good morning friends,

If He knows everything,
What is the use of praying?
When silence conveys all,
What’s the point in saying?

Praying is acknowledgement by us,
That we are feeble He is strong.
So in asking Him to grant us strength,
We ain’t doing anything wrong.

He must do things at His level,
We must do things at ours.
There is no comparison or use,
In trying to match His powers.

“God, until I merge with you,
I pray to you for everything.
I am just an ordinary citizen,
You are the ultimate king.”

“I also pray that you’ll give me good sense,
About what should I pray for,
And if something is not worth praying,
Please, God, kindly ignore.”

Let Him judge that!

Things become sweeter….

Good morning friends,

You can say with courtesy and tact,
What would be the most distasteful fact.
You can be sure,
That with your manner mature,
Palatable would be its impact.

It is not entirely the subject,
That has the adverse effect,
But the way in which you convey,
Can either cause dismay,
Or can be viewed as manners perfect.

So, for others let’s show consideration,
Our speech shouldn’t cause consternation.
It should bring out in others the best,
They should feel assured and blest,
Rather than full of rage and frustration.

….when you say them with tact and courtesy.

Let’s be thankful for even those things….

We often take for granted,
All the things that come to us each day.
Very rarely we are disenchanted,
That things don’t come our way.
And yet gratefulness we never show.
We only bemoan if they reach us slow.

One has to imagine life without them,
To realise, in our life, their value.
We don’t give a thought how they come,
And how what we wanted God knew.
Let’s just show some gratitude to God,
If not actually pause, stand and applaud.

….even those things that come to us regularly each day.

Behold God’s world’s beauty….

Good morning friends,

World is as beautiful as the way you see,
For sighting beauty your heart is the key.
There is no charge to see things that are lovely.
Most of the beauty comes to us free.

God is the greatest painter we’ve seen,
No one can paint His type of dynamic scene.
One minute it is joyous and exuberant,
The next it is totally calm and serene.

Then there are endless shades and hues,
Greens, yellows, reds and blues.
You look at one, then you look at another,
You don’t know which to ignore and which to choose.

Of course you can’t see beauty with just your eyes,
You would use your heart if you are wise.
Those who don’t, they miss the sheer delight,
The others? Well, they often feast on God’s surprise.

….with your heart.

It is not just a figure of speech….

Good morning friends,

Next time when you fall sick,
And they ask you what’s wrong;
Tell them it is healing quick,
And to get well won’t be long.
You’ll be surprised what it does to you,
Your wish quickly comes through.

If misfortune ever visits you,
Try not to give in to despair;
When it sees you made no ado,
It prepares to go elsewhere.
Positive thinking makes things brighter,
You emerge as a courageous fighter.

Next time when you don’t get success,
Even after, for it, you worked hard.
Try not to give in to the stress,
And see that you come out unscarred.
Remember, you can’t always succeed,
But defeat you don’t have to concede.

The one you trusted had you deceived,
How must you react to the unexpected?
Don’t curse yourself that you believed,
And finally don’t ever feel rejected.
Think of it as the other’s loss,
No one would respect a double-cross.

Of all our powers that lie wasted….

Good morning friends….

Of all the powers God gave mankind,
We use power to forgive the least.
He gave us a chance to leave unpleasantness behind,
And say goodbye to becoming a beast.

When we forgive we cleanse our soul,
And brighten the remaining days of life.
Life and us get back to being in control,
We simply cut out useless strife.

Forgiving always makes one stronger,
A pall of gloom gets lifted.
One decides not to suffer any longer,
And become extraordinarily gifted.

Anyway you look at it, it’s a powerful tool,
But surprisingly not many want to try.
It is like giving wings to a fool,
But he doesn’t want to fly.

Forgive your detractors and pray for them,
And lo, you find your wish is granted.
To the feeling of revenge don’t ever succumb,
It harms you more and is totally unwanted.

….the least used is power to forgive.

Good intentions and sincere efforts….

Good morning friends,

‘Intention’ and ‘Effort’ have great meaning hidden,
You discover it if you don’t meet with success.
People don’t take you to task why you didn’t,
If using these words you sincerely express:
“I put in best efforts and my intentions were right,
I am sorry it didn’t come out alright.”

No doubt sincere efforts and good intentions,
Are the stuff everyone appreciates.
About success and winning no one has apprehensions,
As history, time and again, so ably demonstrates.
Hence, in getting these right we should exult,
And leave to God the final result.

It is not always that efforts would bear fruit,
There are so many things beyond our hand.
In any case we deal in relative and not absolute.
We should leave things to Him we don’t understand.
With clear conscience let’s put in our best,
And then leave to God to do the rest.

….shall always be rewarded.

Good morning friends,

Since the universe appears to be in order,
With very little exceptions and aberrations.
One may assume everything would be in disorder,
Unless someone or some force controls the operations.

That force or someone must be in command,
And ensure for everyone and everything there is some rule.
So that things and people must run as planned,
And yet that someone must love and not be cruel.

That someone must never sleep or rest,
And remain forever in command or control.
That someone must listen to each and every request
And must define each and every being’s role.

Now can you think of anyone better than God,
To do all this without pause or break?
And then see to it that nothing is ever flawed,
And there is no room for error or mistake.

….He is in control.

A gentleman is a gentleman….

Good morning friends,

If you have to deal with someone very rude,
Do you try to face him with conduct equally crude?
Or do you as a general rule,
Keep your balance, and cool,
And deal with him at your and not his aptitude?

If another’s conduct can make you forget your own,
And your behaviour mirrors what you often bemoan;
Then don’t pretend to be what you ain’t,
A gentleman or even a saint,
Your own cover you would have easily blown.

A gentleman is one in all possible situations,
He doesn’t publicly display his frustrations.
When dealing with someone rude,
He still tries to be kind and good,
And especially avoids counter allegations.

Gentlemanliness is a strength and not a weakness,
It’s polished behaviour is not to be taken as meekness.
A gentleman takes in his stride,
All conduct that is snide.
And that is precisely his distinctive uniqueness.

….with all the people and at all the times.

You can see and have God…

Good morning friends,

Even though God has no birthday or end,
The idea of God sees changes as it must.
It has kept pace with the modern trend,
And has emerged as a concept most robust.
The core idea of God remains intact:
God is not just an idea but is a fact.

Hence, in keeping with modern times* I propose,
That God not belong to just a few but to everyone.
Not just sages who lived in caves and wore saffron clothes.
Who was hard to please and harder to be won.
Let’s just think of God as a friend,
Upon whom you can always depend.

You won’t have to go to a mountain or stand on your head,
To somehow obtain Him as Lifetime Achievement.
Live forever with Him, wake up and go to bed,
Let Him be present in happiness and bereavement.
Let Him not be seated on a throne,
Sit with Him and don’t leave Him alone.

Include Him in when taking Selfies or pictures,
Take Him for a swim and go with Him for a run.
Don’t always quote about Him some verse from the scriptures.
Let God be a daily joy, let God be everyday fun.
“God, I won’t merge with you on my dying day;
I have you as constant companion every moment of everyday.”

*Modern times: Things which were meant for a few are now easily accessible by the masses; eg, photography and publishing.

…any which way you choose to.

Take your time ascertaining facts…

Good morning friends,

I am not amused anymore,
To see people having different views of the same thing.
I recall some facts about which we once swore,
And now no credibility on the table they bring.
Different people, different times, different situations,
Can lend to most things different interpretations.

My experience is that even ‘facts’ do change,
Something that we thought only to fiction.
Now I no longer find it rare and strange,
That I only imagined what I was sure was conviction.
I now keep for errors a margin,
Something that earlier I could never imagine.

With better knowledge I am not so sure as I once was,
I have now the humility that I lacked.
Now I listen, weigh it in my mind and pause,
Before I declare anything as ‘truth’ or ‘fact’.
There is a thin line separating facts from illusion,
Hence take your time before jumping to conclusion.

….things are often different from what they appear to be.

A Complex is actually very Simple indeed….

Good morning friends,

A ‘Complex’ is really very simple indeed,
You’re thinking too much of people around.
One way in which, of it, you can be freed,
Is if love for yourself you have found.
Everyone has some unique talent,
Find yours and you can become gallant.

Inferiority and Superiority are main complexes,
Actually the origin of both is the same.
Both are well entrenched into our reflexes,
Both eventually lead to feeling of shame.
If you try to focus on yourself,
You can put both these on the shelf.

God has made each one of us as important,
Neither more in comparison nor less.
There is no cause for us to feel unimportant,
Or with our supremacy try to impress.
Believe that God made each of us,
There is no minus, there is no plus.

It also gives us a chance to learn from others,
All of them are created by the same God.
All are our own sisters and brothers,
No one is perfect no one is totally flawed.
Trust in God makes you rid your complex,
Trust in God makes you stay at the apex.
