He was born on this day in 1915. He appeared in 22 films between 1937 and 1980 including Guide in which he was the archaeologist Marco neglecting his wife Rosie (Waheeda Rehman). He directed 20 movies between 1942 and 1974. One of the films he directed is a favourite of mine: Dil Apna Aur Preet Prayi. In Hare Rama Hare Krishna, if you recall, he was the Mr Jaiswal neglecting his son and daughter who were to grow up and become Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman.Kali Ghata – 1951 Movie
This was one movie in which he had the lead role with Bina Rai. He also directed the movie. In this song that I have taken, she is singing the song to him. Lata Mangeshkar is her playback singer.The Song
