ऐ दिवाली तू क्यों मुंह मोड़ आयी,
हमारी माँ को कहाँ तू छोड़ आयी?
उन संग हंसी के फवारे बुलंद थे,
तू तो दामन को ही अब निचोड़ आयी I
हमने रंग रंग के पटाखे इकठ्ठे फोड़े थे,
तू तो किस्मत ही हमारी फोड़ आयी I
कहाँ तो खुशियों के कारवां यहाँ निकलते थे,
अब तो ग़मों से रिश्ता तू जोड़ आयी I
उनका हाथ क्या थामा भरी महफ़िल में,
वही नाज़ुक कलाई तू मरोड़ आयी I
अगली बार आना तो माँ को भी साथ लाना,
हमारी माँ को कहाँ तू छोड़ आयी?
उनके बग़ैर दिवाली तू काली लगती है,
चाहे रंग ओ नूर तू लाखों करोड़ लायी I
Ai diwali tu kahan moonh mod aayi,
Hamaari maa ko kahan tu chhod aayi?
Un sang hansi ke fawaare buland the,
Tu to daaman ko hi ab nichod aayi.
Hamane rang rang ke pataakhe ikathhe phode the,
Tu to kismat hi hamaari phod aayi.
Kahan to khushiyon ke kaarvan yahan nikalte the,
Ab to ghamon se rishta tu jode aayi.
Unaka haath kyaa thama bhari mehfil mein,
Wohi naazuk kalaayi tu marod aayi.
Agli baar aana to maa ko bhi saath laana,
Hamaari maa ko kahan tu chhod aayi?
Unake bagair diwali tu kaali lagti hai,
Chaahe rang o noor tu laakhon crore laayi.

I later realised that every third blog is called 'This 'n That' and changed the name to 'Sunbyanyname'. I detest treading the beaten track. This blog offers me to air 'another way' of looking at things. The idea is not just to entertain but also to bring about a change. Should you feel differently, you are free to leave your comments. You can leave comments even when you agree and want to share your own experience about the topic of the blog post. Impudent or otherwise, I have never been insousciant and I am always concerned about the betterment of community, nation and the world. I hope the visitors of this blog would be able to discern it.
